Prohibits employers from discharging, threatening to discharge, or taking disciplinary action against permanent employees who are absent to serve as precinct election officials or attend required election official training programs

Requires employees to provide reasonable notice to their employer before serving as an election official or attending training to qualify for protection

Prohibits employers from requiring employees to use annual, vacation, or sick leave for time spent serving as election officials or attending related training

Does not require employers to provide paid leave; employees may voluntarily use existing leave benefits if available under other laws or employer policies

Enacts new section 3501.281 of the Ohio Revised Code as part of the 136th General Assembly (2025-2026)
