High school students may fulfill the physical education requirement through participation in club sports or other athletic activities (at least 120 hours), with school boards having discretion to adopt such policies; students must submit signed statements from coaches/instructors and parents verifying participation

Recess periods for K-8 students increased from 15 minutes to 30 minutes per period for both morning and afternoon sessions

New section 3313.6025 requires school districts to provide at least 30 minutes of morning and afternoon recess each school day for kindergarten through 8th grade students, except on days when students attend physical education class

"Club sports" defined to include school-sanctioned sports not regulated by interscholastic organizations (limited to under-19 participants) and youth sports organizations; "other athletic activity" defined as sports taught by instructors outside of school

Applies to public school districts, community schools, STEM schools, and college-preparatory boarding schools through amendments to multiple Ohio Revised Code sections
