Health benefit plans and the Medicaid program are required to cover prescription readers provided by licensed pharmacies

Exemptions apply to institutional pharmacies, correctional facility pharmacies, government-operated pharmacies, drug repository programs, and drugs personally furnished by prescribers

Requirements apply to both in-person and mail-order pharmacy transactions, with notice required for all deliveries by mail, parcel post, or common carrier
