Prohibits Ohio public schools from discriminating against students based on hair texture or protective hairstyles such as braids, locks, and twists in any program or activity

Expands the definition of "race" in Ohio education law to include traits associated with race, specifically hair texture and protective hairstyles

Applies to all public primary and secondary schools including traditional public schools, community schools (charter schools), STEM schools, college-preparatory boarding schools, and public preschools

Creates a private right of action allowing students to bring civil lawsuits in court against schools that violate the anti-discrimination provisions

Enacts new section 3319.48 of the Ohio Revised Code and amends existing sections governing community schools, STEM schools, and college-preparatory boarding schools to require compliance with the new protections
