Surety bail bond agents may surrender a defendant to any sheriff in Ohio (not just the county of arrest) by providing a certified copy of the bond and the signed bail bond application, which discharges the bail obligation

Agents must file a motion with the issuing court within 48 hours of surrendering a defendant to be released from the bond

New applicants for surety bail bond agent licenses must hold a property and casualty insurance agent license in good standing, beginning the first day of the second year after the law takes effect

License renewals require demonstrating a property and casualty insurance license beginning the first day of the third year after the law takes effect

Amends Ohio Revised Code sections 2713.21, 2937.22, 2937.24, and 3905.85
