Political subdivisions (counties, townships, municipal corporations) may elect to participate in state employee health, medical, hospital, dental, surgical, or vision benefits by notifying the Director of Administrative Services

Participating political subdivisions must provide employee data and coordinate with the state to facilitate enrollment; subdivisions may cease participation effective the first day of the next benefit year

Political subdivision employees who enroll receive the same cost-sharing arrangements, coverage options, contribution rates, and enrollment periods as state employees paid by the Director of Budget and Management

The Director of Administrative Services must prescribe administrative procedures, develop enrollment forms, and adopt rules under Chapter 119 of the Revised Code to implement the program

Participation is voluntary; political subdivisions are not required to elect this coverage and may continue offering other health benefit plans
