Ohio Department of Health must create informational materials on type 1 diabetes for parents and guardians of elementary school students, covering disease description, risk factors, warning signs, screening process, and treatment recommendations

Public schools, community schools, chartered nonpublic schools, and STEM schools serving elementary students must provide the type 1 diabetes materials to each student's parent or guardian upon enrollment

Materials must be made available on the Department of Health's website in a format suitable for downloading and printing

Information must include the three stages of type 1 diabetes, implications of screening test results, and recommendations to consult primary care providers if warning signs appear
