Prohibits employers from entering into or enforcing non-compete agreements that restrict workers from seeking employment, working for competitors, or operating a business after leaving a job

Bans agreements requiring workers to pay lost profits, liquidated damages, termination fees, replacement hire fees, retraining costs, or training expense reimbursements upon leaving employment

Applies broadly to all workers including employees, independent contractors, interns, volunteers, apprentices, and sole proprietors

Prohibits employers from requiring Ohio-based workers to adjudicate disputes outside Ohio or waive substantive Ohio legal protections, unless the worker has independent legal counsel

Allows workers to bring civil actions with recovery of actual damages, punitive damages up to $5,000, injunctive relief, and attorney's fees; complaints may also be filed with the Attorney General or Director of Commerce
