Ohio ratifies the Interstate Compact for School Psychologists, allowing licensed school psychologists to obtain equivalent licenses to practice in other member states without duplicative requirements

Compact becomes effective when enacted by seven states, creating the School Psychologist Interstate Licensure Compact Commission as a joint government agency with one delegate per member state

Applicants for home state licenses must pass a qualifying national exam endorsed by the National Association of School Psychologists, complete at least 1,200 hours of supervised internship (600+ in a school setting), and graduate from a qualifying education program

Active military members and their spouses may designate their permanent residence, primary state of practice, or state of relocation under Permanent Change of Station orders as their home state for licensure purposes

Member states retain authority to investigate and discipline licensees, must share information about adverse actions with other states, and may withdraw from the compact with 180 days' notice after enacting repealing legislation
