Members of FEMA-designated urban search and rescue teams who are injured or contract occupational diseases while providing assistance in Ohio at the request of the Emergency Management Agency Executive Director would be treated as employees of the state Emergency Management Agency for workers' compensation purposes

Coverage applies only when the individual is acting in their capacity as a designated urban search and rescue team member, pursuant to an agreement with the Emergency Management Agency Executive Director

Amends existing mutual aid statutes (sections 5502.29 and 5502.41) to make workers' compensation provisions subject to the new section 5502.301

"Designated urban search and rescue team" is defined as teams designated by the FEMA administrator under 42 U.S.C. 5165f to participate in the national urban search and rescue response system
