Requires Ohio health benefit plans to cover augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools for individuals age 22 and younger when prescribed by a speech-language pathologist, physician, or other qualified provider

Covers up to $6,000 for one medically necessary AAC device, or up to $20,000 for an enhanced device if a speech-language pathologist documents the standard device cannot achieve effective communication

AAC tools include speech-generating devices, communication boards, text-to-speech apps, tablets/smartphones with communication software, eye-gaze systems, and all related accessories and mounting equipment

Coverage must include device replacement at least every five years (or sooner if documented medical need), evaluation and training services, repairs, and temporary loaner devices during maintenance

Prohibits insurers from conditioning coverage on usage-tracking data or quantitative use thresholds; does not require replacement solely for newer technology availability
