D.C.'s population of approximately 693,645 residents exceeds Wyoming (588,753), Vermont (644,663), and is comparable to Alaska (737,270) and North Dakota (779,358)

D.C. residents pay more federal taxes than residents of 22 states, serve on federal juries, and serve in the military, yet lack voting representation in Congress

D.C. voters approved statehood by 86% in a November 8, 2016 referendum, and statehood would provide two U.S. Senators and at least one House member

Directs the Ohio Senate Clerk to transmit copies of the resolution to the President Pro Tempore of the U.S. Senate, Speaker of the House, and Ohio's Congressional delegation
