Proposes repealing Section 13 of Article XII of the Ohio Constitution, which currently prohibits wholesale excise taxation of food and nonalcoholic beverages

Requires three-fifths approval from members elected to each house of the General Assembly to place on the ballot

Would appear before voters at the general election on November 2, 2027

If approved by a majority of voters, the constitutional amendment would take effect January 1, 2028

Would remove constitutional barrier allowing the state to potentially impose wholesale excise taxes on food and nonalcoholic beverages in the future
