Chief of Staff has sole authority to assign employee titles, set compensation levels, and approve pay increases for all Senate employees

Chief of Staff and Clerk share direct supervision over all Senate employees, property, premises, and expenditures

Chief of Staff and Clerk may change duty assignments, discharge and replace appointees, and hire additional staff as needed to facilitate Senate operations

All salaries are paid from appropriate Senate funds
