Amends 19 O.S. 2001, Section 547 regarding sheriff responsibilities and deputy sheriff appointments and duties.

For counties with 500,000+ population, deputy sheriffs and detention officers (except chiefs and undersheriffs) must complete a five-year probationary period as at-will employees; after probation, they cannot be discharged except for just cause.

Reserve force deputy sheriffs must be accompanied by a CLEET-certified deputy sheriff unless they have completed a 160-hour basic police course within 12 months of commissioning; limits reserve deputies to 140 hours per calendar month.

Authorizes sheriffs to deputize municipal police officers under interlocal agreements, with liability remaining with the municipal employer.

Permits sheriffs to enter mutual aid agreements and respond to emergency requests from other jurisdictions while maintaining employment benefits through their home county; reserve deputies authorized to serve civil process.
