Amends 74 O.S. 2001, Section 324.11 to allow assisted living facilities to use alternate fire sprinkler protection methods under certain conditions.

Assisted living facilities licensed before July 1, 2008 that house residents unable to respond to emergencies without staff assistance must install fire sprinkler protection and alarm systems meeting I-II building code guidelines.

Assisted living facilities licensed to house six or fewer residents prior to July 1, 2008 are permitted to install 13D or 13R fire sprinkler protection instead of I-II requirements, with municipal fire marshal approval.

Facilities constructed after November 1, 2008 must comply with I-II building occupancy guidelines if they house residents incapable of self-preservation.

Effective date: November 1, 2010.
