HB2886 Summary

• Amends 74 O.S. 2001, Section 85.58A to authorize the Risk Management Division of the Department of Central Services to assist state agencies in obtaining workers' compensation insurance quotes upon request.

• Allows the Department of Central Services to provide comprehensive professional risk management programs for state agencies, including risk identification, loss prevention, insurance procurement, and self-insurance program administration.

• Permits community action agencies operating Head Start programs or providing public transportation to participate in the state's risk management program with insurance coverage obtained or provided by the Risk Management Administrator.

• Authorizes the Risk Management Administrator to provide liability insurance coverage for state employees and directors acting within the scope of state service for violations of constitutional or federal legal rights, in excess of limits under The Governmental Tort Claims Act.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2010.
