Circuit engineering districts created under Oklahoma law are declared to be political subdivisions of the state, granting them governmental status and protections

Circuit engineering districts are multi-county cooperative entities formed by county commissioners to coordinate road maintenance, construction, equipment purchases, and transportation planning

Districts have authority to contract for services, receive grants, hold property, assess member counties for services, and participate in the County Road Machinery and Equipment Revolving Fund
