Amends Oklahoma Statutes Section 6-122.3 to modify requirements for alternative placement teaching certificates granted by the State Board of Education.

Reduces work experience requirement for alternative placement program participants from three (3) years to two (2) years when applicant has only a baccalaureate degree with no postbaccalaureate work in a related area.

Requires teacher education institutions to implement alternative placement programs in at least four areas of specialization including mathematics, science, and a foreign language to maintain accreditation.

Allows qualified individuals to complete standard certification requirements during summers preceding and following their first year of teaching with an alternative placement certificate, or during regular semesters if offered.

Effective July 1, 2010, with emergency clause declaring immediate effect upon passage and approval.
