The Wildlife Conservation Commission is authorized to declare open seasons on wildlife species in Oklahoma counties where populations warrant it, with at least 10 days' notice before seasons open.

The Commission may designate two consecutive days after the deer hunting season for senior citizen hunting days for residents aged 64 and older with valid licenses.

The Commission must declare open seasons for any wildlife species if a state bordering Oklahoma has established an open season on that species, and is authorized to declare seasons on mountain lions and black bears.

The Commission may charge permits/licenses up to $20 for residents and $75 for nonresidents to participate in open seasons, with $5 per permit going to Oklahoma surface holders in the Acres for Wildlife Program.

The Commission has authority to modify seasons, bag limits, catch limits, and possession limits through administrative order after public meetings and investigation, except it cannot change legislative penalties or license amounts.
