Mandates autism training for teachers and education support professionals in early childhood through grade 3, with resident teachers completing it during their resident year and at least once every three years thereafter

Requires school counselors to receive at least one-third of their required professional development hours through programs specifically designed for school counselors

Takes effect July 1, 2010, with an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval
