SB 1378 Summary

• Limits liability for owners, employees, participants, members, guests and customers of gun ranges, gun shops, and gun clubs acting in good faith and following industry standards when injuries result from inherent risks of firearm activities.

• Exceptions to liability protection apply when a person commits willful or wanton disregard for safety that causes injury, or intentionally injures someone engaged in firearm activities.

• Does not apply to employees covered by workers' compensation laws under Title 85 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Codifies new provisions as Section 50.6 of Title 76 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Effective date is November 1, 2010.
