Amends 10A O.S. Supp. 2009, Section 1-4-502 regarding jury trial rights in child welfare cases.

Grants jury trial rights only when: (1) initial deprivation petition includes termination of parental rights request, or (2) termination of parental rights is requested after child is adjudicated deprived.

Jury trials consist of six persons and may be waived by the parties or called by the court on its own motion.

A party requesting a jury trial who fails to appear after proper notice without good cause may be deemed to have waived the right to be present at trial.

Effective November 1, 2010.
