• Amends 14 O.S. 2001, Section 80 to clarify language regarding Senate candidate qualifications and district residency requirements.

• Requires candidates for Senate to be registered voters and residents of their district for at least 6 months before the filing period (with an exception for 2004 candidates).

• Changes terminology from "reapportionment" to "redistricting" when describing how existing Senate members can change residence following district boundary changes.

• Allows sitting Senate members whose districts have been redrawn to move to the new district and seek reelection without vacating their office.

• Effective date: November 1, 2010.
