SB 2025 Summary

• Amends 10 O.S. 2001, Section 7308-1.8 (codified at 10A O.S. Supp. 2009, Section 2-8-107) regarding the Juvenile Sex Offender Registration Act.

• Clarifies statutory language by replacing the reference "this act" with "the Juvenile Sex Offender Registration Act" in the section addressing parental liability for failure to supervise a juvenile sex offender.

• Maintains existing penalties: juveniles who fail to register or notify of address changes are guilty of a misdemeanor; parents/guardians with custody who fail to ensure compliance commit failure to supervise a child, punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2010.
