SB 2028 Summary

• Adds prohibition on Board membership for insurance claims adjustors/reviewers and clarifies restrictions on lobbyists and statewide chiropractic organization officials.

• Requires Board to provide written notice and impact statements to all Oklahoma licensed chiropractors when proposing rule changes through the Administrative Procedures Act.

• Authorizes Board to hire private legal counsel for lawsuits when the Attorney General declines to pursue legal action.

• Allows chiropractors to obtain continuing education hours from out-of-state programs without prior Board approval if the program state has equal or greater licensure requirements and physician provides proof of attendance.

• Removes mandatory minimum in-state continuing education hour requirement and changes waiver date for continuing education from January 1, 2005 to January 1, 2011 for illness or extenuating circumstances.
