Defines "autistic disorder" as a neurological disorder marked by severe impairment in social interaction, communication, and imaginative play, with onset during the first 3 years of life, within the autism spectrum disorders group

Clarifies that the act does not require insurers to provide any specific benefits for diagnosis or treatment of autistic disorders, only that existing coverage must apply equally
