SB 2120 Summary

• Creates opportunity for individual and corporate taxpayers to voluntarily donate their state tax refunds to Oklahoma vision research and patient care institutes beginning in tax year 2011.

• Establishes Oklahoma Vision Research and Patient Care Institute Revolving Fund managed by State Department of Health to receive and distribute donated funds.

• Qualifying vision research and patient care institutes must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations with board of directors, formal affiliation with accredited Oklahoma higher education institutions, provision of uncompensated care to indigent Oklahomans, independent employees and administrative staff, and receipt of research grants.

• All donated funds are appropriated to State Department of Health to support qualified Oklahoma vision research and patient care institutes.

• Effective January 1, 2011.
