SB 2151 Summary

• Amends 22 O.S. Section 471.6 to modify drug court procedures, including eligibility hearings and offender admission requirements.

• Authorizes drug court judges to enter written orders requiring the Department of Public Safety to restore Class D driving privileges for offenders who successfully complete the drug court program in good standing.

• Restricts driving privilege restoration when the suspension or revocation is related to any drug- or alcohol-related offense other than the one for which the participant is serving in drug court.

• Requires offenders seeking driving privilege restoration to provide proof of insurance and pay any outstanding fines, fees, or court-ordered restitution, in addition to standard driver license requirements.

• Takes effect November 1, 2010.
