SB2227 Summary

• Amends the Sex Offenders Registration Act to require out-of-state offenders who would be required to register in Oklahoma to pay a $2,000 registration fee to the Department of Corrections.

• Fee applies to persons convicted of or receiving deferred judgments for sex offenses in other jurisdictions that would be punishable under Oklahoma law, and who enter Oklahoma to reside, work more than 5 cumulative days in 60 days, or enroll as students.

• Collected fees are deposited into the Department of Corrections revolving account.

• Effective date: November 1, 2010.
