SB2273 Summary

• Amends Oklahoma civil procedure law (12 O.S. 2001, Section 3232) regarding use of depositions in court proceedings

• Adds new provision allowing parties to move that a prospective witness be deposed to preserve testimony for trial based on exceptional circumstances and in the interest of justice

• Requires the court to grant such motions may also order the deponent to produce designated non-privileged materials at the deposition

• Requires notice of deposition date and location to all other parties, with the court able to change the date or location for good cause upon request

• Effective date: November 1, 2010
