SB 2312 Summary

• Expands the Sex Offender Registration Act to include individuals who are homeless or residing in Oklahoma, in addition to those working or attending school

• Removes sexual assault (Section 741) from mandatory sex offender registration requirements unless the offense involved sexual abuse or sexual exploitation

• Requires pre-release notification procedures where judges and correctional officials must explain registration duties and obtain residence information (or jurisdiction if homeless) before discharge

• Modifies registration information requirements to include homeless status and location, and adjusts registration verification frequency based on offender risk levels

• Becomes effective November 1, 2010
