Oklahoma State Senate applauds and congratulates Russell M. Perry, founder and CEO of Perry Publishing and Broadcasting Company, on the 30th anniversary of The Black Chronicle newspaper in Oklahoma City.

The Black Chronicle is Oklahoma's longest-published African American newspaper with approximately 30,000 copies in circulation, annual revenues exceeding $1 million, and subscribers in all continental U.S. states.

Perry Publishing and Broadcasting Company operates sixteen AM and FM radio stations across Oklahoma and Georgia, and owns Perry Towers Corporation, which houses the state's tallest broadcast tower.

Russell M. Perry previously served as Oklahoma's first African American Secretary of Commerce and in other state and federal capacities, and was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in 2009.
