HB 1205 Summary

• Amends 22 O.S. 2001, Section 189 regarding when arrests may be made for criminal offenses

• Modifies the exception for misdemeanor arrests to allow arrests at any time of day or night if the defendant is in a public place, on a public roadway, or contacted by a peace officer acting within their official duties

• Previously, misdemeanor arrests were limited to between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. unless otherwise directed by magistrate warrant

• Effective date: November 1, 2011
