HB1273 Summary

• Establishes the Oklahoma Methamphetamine Review Task Force composed of 12 members including state officials, legislators, law enforcement representatives, and agency directors to address methamphetamine issues in Oklahoma.

• Task Force chair appointed by the Speaker of the House by August 1, 2011, with organizational meeting required by September 1, 2011; members serve at pleasure of appointing authority.

• Task Force authorized to study Meth Project results, urban expansion of prevention programs, pseudoephedrine prescription drug legislation, methamphetamine disclosure in home sales, and notification procedures for contaminated properties.

• Task Force shall submit final written report with findings and recommendations to the Governor, Speaker of the House, and President Pro Tempore of the Senate by January 31, 2012, then terminate by operation of law on February 1, 2012.

• Effective date is July 1, 2011, with emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
