HB 1385 Summary

• Provides a tuition reduction for full-time state employees and their dependents enrolled in Oklahoma higher education institutions

• Eligible students must be employed as full-time state employees (or dependents of such) for at least 3 years, be Oklahoma residents, and not already hold a bachelor's or graduate degree

• Tuition reduction amounts vary by institution type: 25% at comprehensive universities, 30% at regional universities, and 50% at two-year colleges

• Applies only to degree-seeking programs (associate or bachelor's) with minimum enrollment of 6 credit hours per semester, capped at 18 hours and 5 years of eligibility

• Becomes effective July 1, 2011, with emergency clause for immediate implementation
