HB 1386 Summary

• Establishes tuition reduction eligibility for dependents of full-time certified or support employees of public school districts who have been employed for at least 3 years

• Provides tiered tuition reductions based on institution type: 25% at comprehensive universities, 30% at regional universities, and 50% at two-year colleges

• Requires students to have graduated from an accredited high school within the previous 3 years, be Oklahoma residents, have no prior bachelor's or graduate degree, and maintain minimum enrollment of 6 credit hours per semester (3 in summer)

• Limits benefits to 18 credit hours per semester and 5 years total enrollment, excluding certificate programs, continuing education, and non-degree professional programs

• Effective July 1, 2011, with emergency clause for immediate implementation
