HB 1552 Summary

• Declares that the Oklahoma Legislature recognizes the right to contract freely while protecting rights granted under the U.S. and Oklahoma Constitutions.

• Defines "foreign law, legal code, or system" as any law or legal system from jurisdictions outside the United States, including international organizations and tribunals.

• Voids and makes unenforceable any court, arbitration, tribunal, or administrative agency ruling that applies foreign law which would not grant affected parties the same fundamental liberties, rights, and privileges as the U.S. and Oklahoma Constitutions.

• Becomes effective November 1, 2011.
