OK HB2007

Amends 70 O.S. 2001, Section 3409 to clarify language regarding appointments to the Board of Regents of the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges.

Board of Regents consists of nine members: the President of the State Board of Agriculture plus eight members appointed by the Governor with Senate confirmation.

Establishes requirements that appointees must be farmers actively engaged in farming or livestock growing as their principal business, with residency requirements varying by numbered position.

Prohibits Board members from being employed by the Agricultural Colleges, Oklahoma State University, or entering into contracts with these institutions.

Effective date: November 1, 2011.
