Amends 70 O.S. 2001, Section 1-109 to clarify school year length requirements for Oklahoma public schools.

Allows school districts to choose between two options: (1) conducting school for at least 180 days per year, or (2) providing at least 1,080 hours of classroom instruction annually if the district adopts a school-hours policy and notifies the State Board of Education by September 15.

Permits school districts to count parent-teacher conferences as classroom instruction time for up to 6 hours per semester (12 hours annually).

Authorizes extended-day schedules for high schools (grades 9-12) that maintain 1,080 annual instructional hours and 180 days of instruction while allowing flexibility in daily hour requirements.

Becomes effective November 1, 2011.
