SB 175 Summary

• Chair of the Statewide Nine-One-One Advisory Board must call a meeting within 30 days of the effective date to produce recommendations on three specific topics.

• Board must recommend on setting fees for the 911 system and identify any additional fees needed to maintain current systems and provide uniform high-level technology throughout the state.

• Board must recommend a state agency to authorize appointment of the Statewide Nine-One-One Coordinator and identify methods for the Coordinator to derive more authority in implementing and improving 911 services.

• Additional meetings may be called by the Board chair as needed, operating under existing procedures in Section 2847 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Board must submit a report with recommendations to the Senate President Pro Tempore and House Speaker by December 31, 2011.
