Senate Bill 388 Summary

• Requires every county Department of Human Services office to post a conspicuous sign visible to all visitors informing the public about reporting public assistance fraud to phone number (800) 784-5887.

• Specifies that the sign must contain legible lettering in at least three-quarters-of-an-inch boldfaced type and include language stating "Wanted: Information pertaining to individuals who have obtained public assistance through fraudulent means. Call (800) 784-5887. You may be entitled to a bounty for your report."

• Protects the confidentiality of persons reporting public assistance fraud, prohibiting disclosure of their identity without their permission.

• Codifies the sign requirement as Section 4100 of Title 56 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

• Takes effect November 1, 2011.
