SB 455 Summary

• Amends Section 1-105e of Title 63 (State Department of Health) to clarify statutory references and duties of the State Department of Health.

• Requires the State Department of Health to perform duties as directed by the State Commissioner of Health to ensure compliance with Section 1-101 et seq. of Title 63 (replacing reference to "this act").

• Authorizes the State Department of Health to fix and collect fees for health maintenance organization (HMO) certification compliance pursuant to Section 6907 of Title 36 (replacing reference to "Section 7 of the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 2003").

• Requires all Department actions to comply with the Administrative Procedures Act and deposits collected fees into the Public Health Special Fund in the State Treasury.

• Effective date: November 1, 2011.
