Summary of SB61

• Allows municipalities to report unpaid expenses for cleaning, remediation, or abatement of nuisances on abandoned properties to the county treasurer.

• Permits the county to include these unpaid municipal expenses in the property tax bill sent to the property owner.

• Applies to properties where the owner has been absent for a period determined by the municipality's charter or ordinances.

• Creates a new statutory provision codified as Oklahoma Statutes Title 11, Section 17-116.

• Effective date: November 1, 2011.
