SB 678 Summary

• Amends 43A O.S. 2001, Section 2-214 regarding training schools operated by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

• Authorizes the Commissioner to establish training schools within the Department or its institutions for personnel training, or arrange training through other public/private institutions.

• Makes language gender-neutral by replacing "he," "him," and "his" pronouns with "the person" throughout the statute governing training school contracts.

• Requires employees receiving training to execute a contract agreeing to work for the Department for a period equal to the training received, or reimburse all training costs.

• Effective date: November 1, 2011.
