Judges of the Court of Civil Appeals are elected or appointed from Congressional Districts based on boundaries existing at the time of their election or appointment.

When Congressional District boundaries are revised and used for U.S. Representative elections, the revised boundaries will also apply to Court of Civil Appeals judicial elections.

Judges seeking retention remain in their original Congressional District regardless of boundary changes and are not required to change residence.

If the number of Congressional Districts increases or decreases, existing statutory definitions of the six Congressional Districts remain in effect for Court of Civil Appeals purposes and will be renumbered within Title 20 of the Oklahoma Statutes.

Declared an emergency measure, taking effect immediately upon passage and approval.
