Senate Bill 797 Summary

• Amends 59 O.S. Section 1686 regarding registration of electrical apprentices with the Construction Industries Board.

• Prohibits any ordinance, rule, or law from establishing a set ratio or limitation on the number of registered electrical apprentices that a licensed journeyman electrician or active licensed electrical contractor may supervise or employ.

• Requires apprentices to be at least 16 years old and either enrolled in a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or employed by an active licensed electrical contractor.

• Takes effect July 1, 2011, with an emergency clause making it effective immediately upon passage and approval.
