Criminalizes reckless conduct while possessing a weapon, look-alike weapon, or dangerous object on school property or within 1,000 feet of school grounds during school hours or when school is in use by a school group.

Defines "weapon" to include stun guns, pellet guns, air soft guns, BB guns, knives, razors, martial arts devices, explosive devices, electronic/chemical mace, and tear gas.

Exempts law enforcement personnel, authorized educational purposes, and normal school supplies (pencils, scissors, compasses) unless used to threaten bodily harm.

Requires confiscated weapons to be reported to law enforcement and parents, with mandatory immediate suspension and possible expulsion plus other disciplinary measures.

Violation is a misdemeanor punishable by up to $500 fine, up to one year in county jail, up to 60 hours community service, or combination thereof; effective November 1, 2011.
