OK SB87

Amends 82 O.S. 2001, Section 1085.1 to modify the Oklahoma Water Resources Board membership from 9 members to ensure representation from each congressional district and specified geographic quadrants of the state.

Requires members to be appointed from each congressional district and from geographic areas separated by Interstate 35 and Interstate 40 boundaries, plus metropolitan areas of Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

Changes member appointment terms to seven (7) years for all new appointees, replacing the previous staggered term system (ranging from 1 to 7 years).

Maintains requirement that board membership includes representation from major water use types: recreational, industrial, irrigational, municipal, rural residential, agricultural, and soil conservation.

Declares an emergency effective upon passage and approval.
