SB 947 Summary

• Amends 47 O.S. 2001, Section 11-106 to clarify exemptions for authorized emergency vehicles when responding to emergencies or pursuing violators

• Adds new legislative finding that public benefit of pursuing violators outweighs potential harm, as violators have duty to stop

• Extends privileges and liability related to emergency vehicle operation (driving) but not to the decision to pursue or respond to calls

• Becomes effective November 1, 2011
